Why Tenderflame
A real flame, without the downsides
You pay for technology you cannot see, but notice every evening.
-
Patented steel wick
The heart of every Tenderflame. The wick only burns together with Tenderfuel and lasts for years, which is why it carries a 2-year warranty.
-
Only ignites above 100 °C
Bio-ethanol ignites at 13 °C. Tenderfuel does not: a spill or a knock does not turn into a flare-up.
-
No smoke, soot or smell
Tenderfuel is bio-based and burns in a controlled way through the wick. No black marks on walls or ceilings, no sharp alcohol smell.
-
No installer or chimney
Unpack, fill, light. No flue, gas connection or yearly inspection, so no extra costs either.
How it works
A real flame in three steps
-
Fill
Pour Tenderfuel into the reservoir. You can see the level straight away.
-
Light
Light the steel wick. The flame burns calmly and steadily.
-
Enjoy
Real warmth and atmosphere, indoors or out. Without smoke or smell.

What customers say

Quickly delivered, lovely product
Unfortunately our glass was broken when we took it out of the box. We emailed, and the next day a new glass was delivered. We are happy with our Tenderflame table fireplace. It also gives off real warmth.

Great service, beautiful fireplace
So happy with our beautiful new fireplace! Right after I ordered it, Tenderflame had changed its price. I still received the fireplace at the new, lower price. Friendly and honest service! And fast delivery.

Tulip Tenderflame
We bought a beautiful round Tulip Tenderflame. It burns with a lovely flame and gives a cosy light and warmth. It is easy to refill (after cooling down), gives off no smell and burns fairly economically. We are very happy with it. Especially on these dark winter days it is a joy to watch.

Beautiful, easy and safe product
The Tenderflame fuel is odourless, colourless, does not smoke and is very safe to use. Very happy with the product, which we use in our business both for the atmosphere and for some extra warmth!

Comparison
Tenderfuel versus bio-ethanol
Both give a real flame. The difference is in how that flame is made.
| Property | Tenderfuel | Bio-ethanol |
|---|---|---|
| Flash point | +100 °C | 13 °C (lower than petrol) |
| Combustion | Controlled via the wick | Open from the reservoir |
| Spontaneous ignition | No | Yes, via vapour |
| Soot | None | Possible |
| Smell | Odourless | Sharp alcohol smell |
| Risk when spilled | Low | High |
| Air quality | Minimal emissions | Fine dust possible |
| Surfaces | No residue | Black residue possible |
Does Tenderflame produce real heat?
Yes, Tenderflame products produce real, tangible heat. The amount of heat depends on the model and flame size. Smaller models are mainly designed for atmosphere, while larger table and freestanding models can genuinely help warm the surrounding area, indoors and outdoors.
What does Tenderflame burn on?
Tenderflame burns on Tenderfuel, a specially developed safe fuel. Tenderfuel only ignites in combination with the patented stainless-steel wick. This means Tenderfuel is non-explosive, burns cleanly, and is significantly safer than traditional bioethanol or methylated spirits.
Is a Tenderflame fireplace easy to mount?
Yes, wall-mounted Tenderflame models are easy to install. The fireplaces come with a clear mounting system and can be securely attached to the wall with standard mounting materials. With basic tools, installation is usually quick and straightforward.
Can I use Tenderflame safely and cleanly indoors?
Yes, Tenderflame is safe and clean to use indoors. Combined with Tenderfuel and the patented wick, the flame produces hardly any smoke, soot, or odour.
No chimney, flue, or extraction duct is needed. As with any open flame, we recommend normal room ventilation.
